Sustain. Grow. Protect.
Gardening can be one of the most satisfying hobbies for people of all ages.
“The single greatest lesson the garden teaches is that our relationship to the planet need not be zero-sum, and that as long as the sun still shines and people still can plan and plant, think and do, we can, if we bother to try, find ways to provide for ourselves without diminishing the world.” – Michael Pollan
Environmental protection, sustainable development and controlling negative externalities is our social responsibility towards the wider community. We can easily ignore these social concerns because of our busy lifestyle. I believe that all of us cultivate a small change in our thinking into “think green”, “go green”, “save the planet” and “plant new trees”. Well, I have decided to contribute a portion of my personal time and effort to support this cause by not only germinating seeds but propagating trees and house plants.
- My primary objective of creating this section on my website is to develop an awareness about Positive Externalities such as saving our environment, by planting trees to keep our natural world healthy.
- Secondly, encouraging people to show their ethical behaviour in recycling and reusing common household items.
- Thirdly, to reduce the impact of Negative Externalities such as improper disposal of plastic items which may cause pollution and harm the environment.
Gardening for me is a satisfying hobby as it takes away some of the pressures of daily life and work. Gardening keeps us active and reduces our stress levels, and that means it can help prevent heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and other associated lifestyle diseases. Moreover, having a garden, irrespective of it’s size benefits the environment in many ways. Not only are plants lovely to look at, they also play a very important part in keeping the natural world healthy. Plants reduce pollution by reducing the amount of carbon dioxide in the air and giving off oxygen – just what we need to survive!
Watching the plants grow and reproduce is one of the most satisfying feeling. Nature has blessed us with plants that have an ability to multiply and grow. It’s a joy to observe them as they grow and mature into adult plants.
I hope you will enjoy this hobby as well. If you wish to get started you can simply purchase a few plants from my very own Zee’s Garden. I have excellent varieties of plants for both indoor and outdoor ornamental decoration.
